Has Changed

Effective July 1, 2025, we merged our two dealers — Investors Group Financial Services Inc. (mutual fund dealer) and Investors Group Securities Inc. (investment dealer) — into one single, dually registered dealer, IG Wealth Management Inc. (in Quebec, IG Wealth Management Inc., a firm in financial planning).

Your relationship with your IG Advisor remains the same, and no action is required on your part. Our new single-dealer structure allows us to streamline operations in support of ongoing improvements in efficiency and service quality.

What is happening

IG Wealth Management received regulatory approval from the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) to merge our mutual fund and investment dealer into one single new dealer: IG Wealth Management Inc.

Why we are making this change

The change aligns with the regulatory framework set by the 2023 merger of Canada’s two regulatory bodies, the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada (MFDA) and the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) into a single self-regulatory organization (SRO), the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO).

What will this change mean to you?

As a result of this merger, effective July 1, 2025, all existing account agreements of Investors Group Financial Services Inc. and Investors Group Securities Inc. will continue under our new dealer: IG Wealth Management Inc.

What are the benefits?

  • Simplified experience: IG Wealth Management Inc. more closely reflects our brand and company name.
  • Ease of doing business: a single dealer structure makes it easier for you to do business with us.
  • Additional efficiencies: it streamlines our business operations and internal processes to help improve the client experience.

Updates to account documents

We have updated our Account Agreements, Relationship Disclosure and Other Information booklet (the “booklet”). Below are some highlights of the changes:

  • Use of our new, single dealer name (IG Wealth Management Inc.).
  • Information relevant to Advisors in the mutual fund division and those registered to offer services through the investment dealer.
  • Refinement of our account agreement to better serve your needs while maintaining alignment with industry standards.
  • Updated Disclosure of Related Issuers and Connected Issuers.
  • Expansion of our Declaration of Trust, which now includes:
    • Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP).
    • First Home Savings Account (FHSA).

  • Will any of my accounts change?

    No, all existing accounts will remain the same, as part of the dealer change.

    We have updated our Account Agreements, Relationship Disclosure and Other Information booklet (the “booklet”) to reflect our new dealer name.

    The new terms and conditions for your account(s) will take effect 60 days after you receive the notice. By continuing to use IG services, you agree to the updated terms and conditions.

  • Does this mean my IG Advisor will change?

    No, you’ll continue to work with same IG Advisor.

    For IG Wealth Connect clients, you’ll continue to have access to our team of IG Wealth Connect Advisors, available via phone, virtual meeting and online chat.

  • Does the change affect the services I receive from IG?

    No, your existing IG accounts and services will not change. You’ll continue to be serviced by the same teams and the same IG Advisor you know and trust. 

  • Can I continue to sign in to my Online Access account as I did before?

    Yes. You can continue to access your account details, documents and statements 24/7 through Online Access,  with the same log-in and password.

  • Does amalgamation affect the terms and conditions of my policies or contracts?

    As a result of this merger, effective July 1, 2025, all existing account agreements of Investors Group Financial Services Inc. and Investors Group Securities Inc. will continue under our new dealer, IG Wealth Management Inc.

  • Why do I continue to see references to Investors Group Financial Services Inc. and Investors Group Securities Inc.?

    We are updating our websites, materials, applications and forms to reflect our new dealer name, and it will take time to complete all the changes. Therefore, you may continue to see references to Investors Group Financial Services Inc. and Investors Group Securities Inc. for some time. 

    Until we complete the updates, all references to Investors Group Financial Services Inc. and Investors Group Securities Inc. and any abbreviated forms (IGFS and IGSI) in any materials — whether online or in print — are now to be understood as meaning IG Wealth Management Inc.

  • Has the company mailing address changed?

    No. You can keep using the same mailing address you always have:

  • Do I have to do anything differently to send payment by cheque?

    Effective July 1, 2025, we ask clients to make cheques payable to IG Wealth Management Inc.

    We also encourage you to speak with your IG Advisor to sign up for preauthorized payments directly from your bank account via electronic fund transfer (EFT).

  • When will IG Wealth Management Inc. appear on my statements?

    Your statements will be updated to reflect our new dealer name as of July 1, 2025. 

  • How will my tax slips be impacted?

    All tax slips issued before July 1, 2025 will reflect either Investors Group Financial Services Inc. or Investors Group Securities Inc.

    All tax slips issued on or after July 1, 2025 will reflect our new dealer name, IG Wealth Management Inc.

    Reissued and/or amended tax slips issued on or after July 1, 2025, will reflect our new dealer name, IG Wealth Management Inc. There is no impact on how you file your taxes with the Canada Revenue Agency or Revenue Quebec; you can continue to use the amended or reissued tax slip with the updated dealer name to file your taxes.

  • Do I have to do anything differently to send electronic payments through my online banking?

    For electronic fund transfers through online banking, IG Wealth Management Inc. (or IG Gestion de patrimoine Inc. in French) is available as a payee when setting up a new bill payment or financial institution recipient. 

    You are not required to update your existing payees/recipients from Investors Group Financial Services Inc. or Investors Group Securities Inc. to IG Wealth Management Inc.. The payee name change will occur automatically over time.

    For existing preauthorized payments currently made to IG Financial Services or IG Securities, there is no change or action required. Your payments will continue to be made and deposited to your account(s). 

    We expect our dealer name change may take time to complete across all financial institutions. Some financial institutions may update our payee name automatically to IG Wealth Management Inc. (or IG Gestion de patrimoine Inc. in French), while some may continue to display IG Financial Services and IG Securities for some time.
